Your Blog of Rights

Dear ACLU Supporter,

We need your help sharing the message of rights and liberty across the Web. Visit Blog of Rights and become a part of our effort to educate Americans about how we can reclaim our liberties.

Today, we launched a blog that is for you and about your rights -- a truth telling, down-and-dirty go-to source you can trust for a breakdown on our issues. The Blog of Rights will make it easy for you to learn about the issues from voices you can trust to tell you what’s really going on. And we need to do more. We need more expert voices, more ACLU members and more people all across America spreading the word that we can reclaim our liberties and forge a better America.

Coverage of Issues You Care About:

  • The authorization of the use of torture by top Bush administration officials,
  • The fight for due process at Guantánamo Bay,
  • Warrantless wiretapping and domestic surveillance,
  • The continued struggle to ensure equality and civil rights for all Americans.

Writers You Can Trust

On the blog you can hear from writers and bloggers like Glenn Greenwald, Salon.com blogger and author of two New York Times bestselling books on constitutional rights. Glenn and others like Joan (McJoan) McCarter from DailyKos will post on Blog of Rights to help spread truth and analysis on pressing civil liberties issues and events.

Your Role in Spreading the Word

A strong well-read blog will help make sure that Americans know how they can become involved in reclaiming their liberties -- and you can help. The new blog makes it easy for you to share the news with others through posting to your own blog, or by using Digg, Del.icio.us, Facebook and other tools.

It’s easy to sign up for these sites and share our posts, and by spreading the word, you can help us bring in more visitors than we ever could on our own.

We hope you’ll check out our new blog and will help us share the ACLU blog posts using our new social tools.

Sincerely,

The ACLU Online Team
